current happenings in Telberen States
In common times, city-states (including Gilead) govern themselves without even considering what the national council has to say on matters. States have broken out in war against each other, they have created trading alliances, they have all agreed or disagreed on national policies. An example of one of these policies is the agreement that if there ever came a time where the Telberen States was invaded by another nation, all city-states would temporarily put aside their differences and pledge their armies to the national defense effort.
Current conflicts in the Telberen States:
General Lyon of Arbin and his city-state have of primarily elves and half-elves, has declared war on the newer city-state of Dar’uk. This conflict is a result of a hatred for the policies of equality inside Dar’uk by the people of Arbin. Dar’uk has recently made it legal for Drow to live inside the city as any other race, as a result, a clan of exiles from the underdark known as the Black Blades has settled in this city. Arbin, being a nation primarily of elves and half-elves, feels insulted by the council of Dar’uks decision on allowing Drow into the States of Telberen, they fear that this may catch on with other city-states and plan on making a quick example of Dar’uk to the other city-states. Dar’uk has also declared war on Arbin for threatening their city-state with excommunication of trade and with violence.
Trading Alliances in the Telberen States:
The Human State of Seranas and the Dwarvern city-state of Hammerfast has opened a trade route with one another, connecting to Gilead. Seranas offers both fish, meat, and furs in exchange for raw ores and occasionally dwarvern-forged weapons. The two of them honor their tax payments to Gilead in their tradings.
